He was the director of the TV Center at City University of New York in the late 1970's and conducted some ground breaking research on the impact of the mass media of entertainment and how to develop discernment. Dr. Baehr has written six books, including THE MEDIA-WISE FAMILY (Chariot Victor) and GETTING THE WORD OUT (Harper & Row), financed five feature films, produced many television and radio programs, and invented and helped to design the original CHRONICLES OF NARNIA games. Ted graduated summa cum laude in Comparative Literature from Dartmouth College; attended Cambridge University, the University of Bordeaux & Toulouse, and the University of Munich; graduated with a Juris Doctor from NYU School of Law; and finished his theological studies at the Institute of Theology. Dr. Baehr was president of the Episcopal Radio & TV Foundation when it produced the famous CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE on CBS Television which had 37 million viewers and won an Emmy Award. He has produced hundreds of PBS programs, as well as many programs for other television networks. Dr. Baehr initiated and developed with the late Paul Gruen (one of the top game inventers in the world, he invented three of the top ten selling board games of all time) the original CHRONICLES OF NARNIA board games for David C. Cook publishing. Dr. Baehr tested and helped to develop the "Growing With Television" intergenerational media literacy educational series. Dr. Baehr is on the board of many organizations including the National Religious Broadcasters, Religious Heritage of America and the Steering Committee of the Theological Summit Conference.
